What is eCooltra?

eCooltra is the #1 European scooter sharing service where you pay per minute with your app. With eCooltra you can enjoy all the advantages of having your own scooter without worrying about maintenance or insurance.

What is scooter sharing?

It is a new form of transportation where you share scooters throughout your city for a short period. Feel free without any attachments.

Is eCooltra available in my city?

Today, in the same app you can book scooters in Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Milan and Lisbon. Soon, we will be available in more cities in Europe.

How does eCooltra work?

Using eCooltra is as easy and practical as registering. Open the app, choose the nearest scooter and drive. You only pay for the minutes you use.

Who can use eCooltra?

Any person who is older than 18 with a valid driving license (A, B, C or D).

How do I register for eCooltra?

To register you simply complete the form on the website or download our app from the Google Play Store or the App Store.

How long does it take to activate my account?

Once your registration is completed our team checks if all the information you provided is correct and within a maximum period of 24 hours we will activate your account.

How do I cancel my registration with eCooltra?

If you want to unsubscribe from our service, simply send a request to hello@ecooltra.com.

What kind of scooter does eCooltra offer?

eCooltra has hundreds of electric scooters from the brands Govecs and Askoll.

The scooters are equivalent to 50cc and reach a maximum speed of 48km/h. When you make a reservation, you can see the estimated battery life of each scooter.

When can I use eCooltra?

You can use eCooltra 24 hours a day.

How do I find my scooter?

Finding and selecting a scooter is very easy. Just log in to the app and select the scooter you want to use.

You have 15 minutes to walk towards the scooter once reserved. When you reach the place where the scooter is parked you can locate it by clicking “SHOW SCOOTER”. The claxon will go off and the lights will fluctuate.

What do I do when the scooter is damaged before riding?

If the scooter has any damage call our customer service to notify them. They will help you find the nearest possible scooter for you.

How do I start the scooter?

Once you are at the scooters location press “START” in the app to unlock the scooter, remove it from its stand and press start the “START” button on the scooter to start the engine.

Do I need to wear my helmet?

No, it is not necessary. Each scooter is equipped with 2 helmets in different sizes. To access them press the button inside the app to open the compartment.

In addition to the helmets, you will find hygienic wipes and the scooter documents.

Can I bring passengers?

Of course! The scooter model we offer has place for two passengers and each scooter has 2 helmets of different sizes so you can drive with a friend.

Can other people drive with my account?

No, only you can drive with your account. Allowing another person or another user to your eCooltra account is penalized with a fine of €100 in accordance with our General Conditions.

Am I insured?

Yes. The service includes coverage of damage to third parties. In case of damage and theft of the scooter, the user will pay the damages up to  €500 or €99, depending on the selected rate.


What do I do in case of an accident?

Complete the accident forms which you will find in the scooter, along with the documentation.

Remember also to notify our customer service as soon as possible. We will advise you and pick up the scooter.

What if my phone runs out of battery?

It is necessary to have your phone always charged because it starts and ends your ride.

If you run out of battery you can press the “START” button on the scooter for 30 seconds until it goes out. Your session will go into “PAUSE” mode. Remember to contact us as soon as possible to finish your session.

Can I drive wherever I want?

Yes, you can drive wherever you want with the scooter on the roads permitted for 50cc scooters. Remember that you must park the scooter within the designated zone that you will find inside the app. Before starting your ride keep in mind your battery life to make sure you reach your destination.

Can I drive around the city when there are restrictions for pollution?

Yes, without any problem. Our scooters are electric and allow you to move freely around your city in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. For every KM you travel with an eCooltra you save 60g of CO2.

Can I make a temporary stop during my ride?

If you need or want to stop during your session you can pause the scooter by pressing the “PAUSE” button. Remember that these minutes will be invoiced.

What do I do with the scooter once my journey is over?

When you reach your destination park the scooter, store the helmets under the seat and the top case and click “CHECKOUT” in the app.

IMPORTANT! Make sure you park the scooter correctly: within the parking area that is marked inside the app and in a place where parking is allowed.

What do I do when my session is not closed?

If you have any trouble starting or closing your session do not hesitate to contact our customer service. We are happy to assist you.

How do I use my free minutes?

In the menu of the app you will find the “FREE MINUTES” section where you can check the available minutes you have left and invite your friends with your personal promotion code.

Your friends have to enter this code during the registration to enjoy 30 free minutes. The day they use eCooltra for the first time you will receive 30 free minutes for yourself as well.

Price and promotions

Is there any subscription fee?

At eCooltra there are no subscription fees.

How much does it cost to use eCooltra?

At eCooltra you only pay for the minutes that you use the scooter. The rate is only €0,26 per minute, all-inclusive.

From which moment I start paying?

The time starts counting the moment you press “START” in the app and until you press “CHECKOUT”. Whenever you want you can check the minutes and cost of each trip in the app and on your profile at www.ecooltra.com.

How and when do I pay?

During the registration process at eCooltra you must enter your credit or debit card details. Each time you consume more than €20, the system automatically charges the card connected to the account.

If you spend less than this amount during the month you will be invoiced at the end of each calender month.

Can there be additional costs?

Fuel, insurance, helmets and maintenance are all included in the rate you pay per minute. However, there could be fines added to your invoice when you break to regulations. You can see the details in our Terms and Conditions.

Is it true that I can invite a friend and we both receive 30 minutes?

In fact, at eCooltra we reward you with 30 free minutes (to you and your friend) for each friend you invite to register and uses eCooltra.

Parking and fines

Where can I park the scooter?

Although you can move freely around the city the parking zones are limited. This zone is indicated in our app. So, to end your session you must park within the designated zone. Leaving an eCooltra scooter outside this area is penalized with a fine of €30.
On the other hand you have to take into account the municipal regulations of each city which includes the parking rules. Remember that the user is responsible for parking the scooters correctly and receives a sanction for improper parking.

What do I do when I get a ticket?

When you arrive at the scooter you have booked and you find a fine, don´t worry. Keep it inside the seat and make your trip without worrying.

At eCooltra we register all the trips our users make and we can identify the user who has parked incorrectly. This user will receive the sanction.

What happens when I break the regulations and receive a fine?

During the period that you use the scooter you are responsible for obeying the regulations, since you park it until another user uses the scooter again.

Our team will identify the responsible user of the fine and take actions accordingly.
